#ITSNOTJUSTSTELLA CAMPAIGN 2.0 via Helpsy
Recently, we saw an Insta post by Helpsy about a hashtag movement they started in 2015; #ITSNOTJUSTSTELLA.
Back in 2009, when we first started throwing around ideas of what Orgotton would be there was a lot of talk about "green" and "organic" products. But with the decline of the economy also came the decline of people talking and purchasing sustainable products.
A few years ago we started to hear a buzz begin again. And that buzz has increasingly been getting louder (yay!). But, as it continues to grow and big brands see the benefits of being sustainable smaller companies can sometimes get left in the dust.
Here's an excerpt from their post:
"As ethical fashion becomes increasingly 'buzzy' the #ITSNOTJUSTSTELLA campaign is as resonant and important as it was in 2015, maybe even more important. These larger brands are piggy backing on a movement created by people who have true dedication to ethical fashion and have done a lot of work. While their efforts are necessary, if we're really going to clean up the fashion space we also need to continue to support the other, less funded, voices. After all, they are often doing things in much more eco-friendly and labor friendly ways than larger brands, no matter how dedicated larger brands claim to be."
One of the sentences we love the most: "if we're really going to clean up the fashion space we also need to continue to support the other, less funded, voices". We couldn't agree more! There is power in numbers - are you a small brand that wants to collaborate? Let's build each other up. Send us an email, we love to meet, help and brainstorm with likeminded people!
